iPE connects companies with independent, state-licensed Professional Engineers who review a drawing package properly — receiving the design inputs and assumptions, raising findings, requiring changes, and sealing only where their own judgment allows.
What it does
- Post the job
- Describe the package, the discipline, and the state in which the work must be sealed. Licensure is jurisdictional, so the state is not a detail.
- Engage a verified engineer
- Engineers hold verified credentials on the platform, and the scope is written down before work starts.
- Hand over inputs, not just output
- Design inputs, assumptions, load cases and code basis — the things responsible charge is actually exercised over. This is the step that makes the rest legitimate.
- Review, findings and change
- The engineer raises findings and can require changes, handled as change orders rather than silent additions. The engineer may conclude a package is not sealable as presented.
- Attestation and seal
- The engineer attests to specific criteria and applies their seal where their judgment permits, with the evidence record retained alongside the sealed package.
- Release from escrow
- Funds are held in escrow and released when you accept the work.
This is not a stamping service, and the distinction is the whole product. NCEES Model Rules and every state board prohibit sealing work you did not prepare or hold responsible charge over. A platform that routes a finished PDF to a stranger for a signature is describing a licensing violation.
So iPE is built the other way round: it is a system for creating and preserving the evidence of responsible charge. A licensed Professional Engineer — a person, not this software — is the one who seals.
